Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL), a Schedule-‘A’ Miniratna Category-I CPSE, wholly owned by Government of India under the administrative control of Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Ministry of Finance has paid a Final Dividend of Rs. 240.41 crores to Government of India for F.Y. 2020-21 being 5% of Net worth of the Company as at 31st March 2021 [57% of Profit after Tax (PAT) for F.Y. 2020-21) in compliance of DIPAM guidelines. The dividend cheque was presented by Smt. Tripti P. Ghosh, CMD, SPMCIL along with Shri Ajay Agarwal, Director (Finance), SPMCIL to Hon’ble Union Minister of Finance, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman in the august presence of Shri Ajay Seth, Secretary, DEA and Ms. Meera Swarup, Special Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Finance. SPMCIL has achieved the targets in the production of Bank Notes, Coins, Security Paper, Passports, Security Inks and other Security Products during the year 2020-21. SPMCIL has produced 8288 million pieces of the Bank Notes, 2757 million pieces of circulating coins, 6870 Metric Ton (MT) Security Paper, 600.42 Metric Ton (MT) of Security Inks in 2020-21. During the year 2020-21, the Revenue from Operations of the Company is Rs.4712.57 crores and Profit before Tax is Rs.789.74 crores.

Health check-up camp organized at SPMCIL, Corporate Office

A camp has been organized on 15.12.2021 for Health check-up of employees by the Venkateshwar Neuroscience Centre Hospital, Dwarka, New Delhi at SPMCIL, Corporate Office. In this camp, BP, Blood Sugar, Bone Mineral Density, Neuropathy monitoring of the employees were checked and suitable counseling was also provided by the doctors. During the camp most of the personnel starting from Senior Officials took advantage of the above health check-up camp.

Winners of SPMCIL Inter-Unit quiz competition to celebrate “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”

“Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of it’s people, culture and achievements. SPMCIL organized Inter-Unit Quiz Competition on “Indian Independence” amongst the employees of Nine Units including Corporate Office and BNPMIPL, Mysuru (Joint Venture of SPMCIL & BRBNMPL) in two Stages: Stage I: Pen Paper based Quiz (Off-line) which was organised on 11th November 2021 whereas Stage II was conducted using contemporary method of participation through Video Conferencing by a “Quiz Master” on 15th November 2021. For Stage II of the Quiz Competition, top two performers from 11 centres have participated. Quiz competition witnessed active participation of Employees with a great zeal and helped them in expanding their knowledge base and hone their team working skills. The winners of the quiz competition are 1st position – Sh. J.Sriharsha, Assistant Manager (Legal) & Sh. G. V. Krishna Murthy, Supervisor from India Govt. Mint, Hyderabad; 2nd position – Sh. Amit Kumar Singh, Manager (T.O.) & Sh. Sachin Sharma, Jr. Office Assistant from SPMCIL Corporate Office and 3rd Position-Sh. K. P. Khandekar,Manager (M.M.) & Sh. Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited has participated in the 40th India International Trade Fair organized by India Trade Promotion Organization at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 14 to 27 November 2021. The stall of SPMCIL at Stall No. 06A, Hall No. 11 was inaugurated by Dr. Shashank Saksena, Senior Economic Adviser (FSRL, FS&CS, C&C), Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India on 14th November, 2021 in presence of Ms. Tripti Patra Ghosh, Chairman and Managing Director, Shri S.K Sinha, Director (HR) and Shri Ajay Agarwal, Director (Finance) from SPMCIL. The stall provides an excellent presentation of various commemorative coins produced by India Govt. Mint, Mumbai, Kolkata & Hyderabad, and also gives an overview of SPMCIL’s latest business diversion strategies and foray into Gold & Silver bullion & medallions. The Commemorative Coins minted by India Government Mints or other products are available for sale to the public at the stall.

SPMCIL, a CPSE under the administrative control of DEA, MoF is rendering sovereign functions to Government of India i.e., minting of coins, printing of Banknotes, Non-judicial Stamp Papers, and Passports & travel document, Postal items, other security products, etc. In pursuance to CVC’s directives, Vigilance Awareness Week-2021 (from 26th October to 01st November, 2021) was inaugurated on 26th October at 11:00 am at corporate office of SPMCIL with administration of the Integrity Pledge to the officials by the CMD, Ms Tripti P Ghosh. During the week, various outreach activities like e-lectures, e-quiz, poster competitions, etc are being organized among the nine units of SPMCIL as well as nearby schools/colleges highlighting the theme of the week viz. ‘Independent India @75: Self Reliance with Integrity’ to create awareness among the employees and various stakeholders to achieve transparency, accountability and corruption free governance which is the Commission’s prime endeavor. During the Pledge Ceremony, an annual magazine of SPMCIL Vigilance Department Satarkvani Vol-VII has released by Ms Tripti P. Ghosh, CMD in the presence of Shri S. K. Sinha, Director (HR), Shri Ajay Agarwal, Director (Finance) and Shri Vinay Kumar Singh, IRS, CVO, SPMCIL.
Official Language Prize Distribution Ceremony

A prize distribution ceremony was organized in SPMCIL, Corporate Office for the winners of Hindi week competitions organized on the occasion of Hindi Diwas 2021(14th September) on 7.10.2021. The programme was chaired by Ms. Tripti P. Ghosh, Chairman and Managing Director. She expressed happiness over the smooth conduct of official language activities by the Hindi section during the last year. During the occasion Shri S.K. Sinha, Director (HR), Shri Ajay Agarwal, Director (Finance), Shri Vinay Kumar Singh, Chief Vigilance Officer, Shri B.J. Gupta, Chief General Manager (HR) and Shri Praveen Kumar Pandey, Chief Manager (technical) were also present. In her address, the Chairperson congratulated the Heads of Finance, Vigilance, Human Resource and Technical for the important progress of work in Hindi in their respective Departments. SPMCIL pledges 2.3 crore under CSR initiative to start –ups on COVID.

SPMCIL has pledged Rs.2.3 crore to the Atal Incubation Centre – Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology (CCMB) novel COVID-19 Technology Deployment (CoviTED) designed to help promising start-ups to accelerate the scale-up and deployment in the market. SPMCIL has come forward to support organizations at AIC-CCMB involved in mitigating the COVID-19 pandemic after the ‘tsunami of Covid-19 has ravaged the nation. The pandemic has ignited an extraordinary response from start-ups and innovators across the globe to identify and implement potential short and long term solutions. As the threat of new variants causing another wave looms large, there are significant opportunities to reduce the cost of testing and indigenization of Medtech, Dr. N.M. Rao, CEO AIC-CCMB said that ‘CoviTED-19 Tech Showcase’ held at the institute. “Timely supports are crucial for rapidly adapting to demands of the pandemic and SPMCIL support will go a long way in evolving novel technologies to stop and decelerate the viral infections,”. Ms. Tripti Patra Ghosh, CMD,SPMCIL, Shri S.K. Sinha, Director(HR),SPMCIL visited at CCMB ,Hyderabad on 29.09.2021 to review the status of the CSR project along with Shri B.J. Mr. Satyendra Jain (Cabinet Minister in Delhi Government with portfolio of Healthcare, PWD etc.) also visited the stall.This is one of the biggest fair of Jewellery industry in North India with more than 200+ exhibitors currently participating in the show.

During her visit, she took stock of the entire paper manufacturing process of the Unit by visiting Factory area. She also showed her interest towards the innovative and modernization initiatives of the Units. Tree plantation was also carried out by her during this visit.

Ms. Manisha Sinha, Joint Secretary (C&C), DEA, Ministry of Finance visited Bank Note Press, Dewas on 17.09.2021 and went through CNE (Counterfeit Note Examination Cell) and the intricacy of Bank Note designing and printing, various overt and covert security features incorporated in Indian Bank Notes, examination of FICN Bank Notes followed Ink manufacturing process of different types of security inks manufactured at Ink factory and R&D Laboratory during her visit Ms. Sinha also visited studio and gone through history of Indian Bank Notes at BNP, Dewas and observed the process of designing and development for printing of banknotes at different stages of process. Finally she took main factory round to see the process of complete bank note printing line starting from offset, intaglio, numbering, finishing including single note bank note processing. Prime focus of the Factory visit was to see and understand the recently commissioned state-of art new latest printing machines like Intaglio Komori, Cut pack UNO machine, Numbering KBA machine, Offset Komori and WSRTP (Wiping solutions recovery and treatment plant).
